Construction & testing observation
This is obviously where the rubber meets the road. It is when that gorgeous facade design is realized. Any design is only as good as the delivery of that design.
Unfortunately, this is also where things can easily become derailed. We work with the team to keep the facade firmly on the rails to mitigate the owner’s risk of an underperforming facade.
Our many years of experience & involvement throughout the design process means we know where to look for construction problems & more importantly, how to fix them.

The work put into producing robust specifications (including those for testing), frequently reviewing buildability & collaborating with the subcontractor during Design Assist really bears fruit in this phase. Building on that work we:
- View the visual mockup to assist the architect in:
- Checking colors, materials & finishes match the desired aesthetic,
- Reviewing the aesthetics & possible unwanted anisotropy effects of the glass production & coatings combination,
- Working with the subcontractor to agree on using more aesthetically acceptable layouts or components such as seals & gaskets.
- Witness mockup performance testing & work with the team, often in real time, to troubleshoot & address failures,
- Observe installation to spot check the installed facade is in accordance with the CDs,
- As needed, confirm the fabrication facility’s quality procedures meet industry standards & are followed.
Typical scope of work:
- Witness mockup testing & troubleshoot problems
- Provide fabrication quality checks
- Observe on-site installation
- Observe on-site performance testing & troubleshoot failures
- Witness visual mockup & troubleshoot problems
